Terms of Use

Hayat Health (“Hayat”, “we”, “us”) is a technology platform that connects patients in Pakistan with independent, verified doctors for online and in-clinic care. By creating an account, booking an appointment, or otherwise using Hayat, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

1. Hayat is a platform, not a medical provider

Hayat does not practise medicine, employ doctors, or provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We provide the technology that lets patients find and consult doctors. No doctor–patient relationship is ever formed between you and Hayat itself. Any medical relationship is solely between the patient and the doctor they choose.

2. Not for emergencies

Hayat must not be used for medical emergencies. If you have an emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital at once. Telemedicine has limits and is not suitable for every condition; the doctor may advise you that an in-person visit is required.

3. Doctors are independent practitioners

Every doctor on Hayat is an independent, self-employed practitioner — not an employee, agent, or representative of Hayat. We review each doctor's identity and check their registration against the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) register before they go live. This verification confirms registration only. It is not an endorsement, a guarantee of skill or outcomes, or a recommendation of any doctor. Each doctor is solely and fully responsible for the advice, diagnosis, prescriptions, and treatment they provide, and for complying with the laws and professional standards that apply to them.

4. Terms for doctors

If you use Hayat as a doctor, you additionally agree that: (a) you hold, and will maintain, a valid PMDC registration and any licence required for your practice, and you will tell us immediately if it is suspended, restricted, or revoked; (b) all credentials, qualifications, fees, and profile details you provide are true, and you will keep them current; (c) you are solely responsible for your clinical decisions, records, and prescriptions, and for holding any professional indemnity cover you need; (d) you will use patient information only to provide care to that patient, never for any other purpose; (e) you are responsible for your own taxes and regulatory obligations; and (f) you will indemnify Hayat against any claim arising from your professional practice, your breach of these terms, or any inaccuracy in the information you provide.

5. Who can use Hayat

You must be 18 or older, or use Hayat with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf. You agree to give true, accurate, and complete information about yourself and to keep your account details secure. You are responsible for everything done under your account.

6. Bookings, fees, and payments

Each doctor sets their own consultation fee, shown on their profile. That fee is a direct transaction between the patient and the doctor: the patient pays it directly to the doctor, Hayat does not collect, hold, or process it, and Hayat is not a party to that transaction or responsible for refunding it. Where enabled, Hayat charges a separate booking fee to confirm an appointment. The booking fee is Hayat's platform charge for facilitating the booking — it is not payment for medical care. Booking fees are refundable only where the appointment is cancelled in line with our cancellation policy or was not honoured by the doctor. Payment processing is provided by third parties; Hayat is not liable for their acts or omissions.

7. Cancellations and missed appointments

You may cancel or reschedule an upcoming appointment from your dashboard. Doctors may cancel an appointment or mark it as missed. Repeated no-shows, late cancellations, or misuse of the booking system may lead to restrictions on your account.

8. Your responsibilities as a patient

Give accurate and complete health information — withholding relevant information can lead to unsafe care, and the consequences of doing so are your responsibility. Attend your appointments, follow your doctor's guidance responsibly, and seek in-person or emergency care when advised or when your condition worsens. Hayat and the doctor rely on the information you provide.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or disrupt the service; impersonate any person; harass, abuse, or threaten doctors, patients, or staff; record consultations without consent; upload unlawful content or content you have no right to share; attempt to access other users' data; scrape or copy the platform; use Hayat to obtain prescriptions dishonestly; or use the service for any unlawful purpose. Community content (posts, replies, reviews) must be honest and respectful; reviews must reflect a genuine experience. We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account, at our discretion, to protect the community and the integrity of the platform.

10. AI-assisted tools

Hayat provides optional writing and summarisation tools that use artificial intelligence to help doctors prepare their clinical documentation. These tools never make medical decisions and are never shown to patients as advice. The doctor always reviews, edits, and remains the author of record of their own notes.

11. Privacy

Your use of Hayat is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we protect it.

12. Intellectual property and your content

Hayat's name, design, and software belong to us. Content you post (such as community posts or reviews) remains yours; by posting it you give us a non-exclusive licence to host and display it on the platform.

13. No warranties

Hayat is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any doctor will be available at any given time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: Hayat is not liable for the medical care provided by any doctor, for the outcomes of that care, or for any dispute between a patient and a doctor; Hayat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses; and Hayat's total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of the platform is limited to the booking fees you actually paid to Hayat in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of Pakistan.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Hayat, its owners, and its team against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or — for doctors — your professional practice.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Hayat at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, endanger others, provide false information, or lose required registration (for doctors) — with or without notice where the circumstances require it. Sections 3, 4, 6, and 12–17 survive termination.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Hayat about the platform.

18. Changes & contact
